Cocktails & Candycanes holds a special place in our hearts as it was born out of a deeply personal experience. Both of our girls were born 11 weeks premature, Aria was born in 2017 in Tulsa, OK and spent 49 days in the NICU. When Ella was born the following year in London, ON, our world was turned upside down once again. Ella spent a total of 71 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the London Health Sciences Centre. During this time, we were fortunate enough to have a home away from home, where we could stay with Aria and still be close to Ella while she fought her fight, ensuring she had her parents’ love and support during her medical journey. Ella was also born with a bilateral cleft lip and cleft palate and has, and will undergo, several surgeries and requiring overnight stays, where we are so thankful to able to lean on the support of the RMH every time. During some of the most difficult times in our lives, the Ronald McDonald House provided us with a lifetime of support, compassion, and care, which is why we made the decision to make giving back an annual event to help ensure that other families facing journeys like ours receive the same support and care that we did. COCKTAILS & CANDYCANES has grown over the years, thanks to the incredible support from our community, friends, and family. The cost to house a family for one night at the house is $177. With event proceeds going directly to the cause, we’ve been able to donate $61,087 to the RMH, which has helped house families in need for 345 nights. This year's event, scheduled for December 7th, 2024, at The Chatham Armouries, promises to be a fun night out, filled with amazing food and entertainment as well as inspiration and social networking. We hope you will join us for a wonderful night out in support of a great cause. We know with your support, we can achieve our goal of raising $20,000 with this year’s event.
