Ronald McDonald House Charities Alberta continues to serve families. Much is changing for charitable organizations during the Covid-19 pandemic. But the work of Ronald McDonald House Charities Alberta (RMHC Alberta) continues, and we are determined to deliver on our mission. We want to meet the needs of those families – both in and out of our Houses – who would normally be able to rely on RMHC Alberta. We have temporarily closed our doors to new families during the pandemic, but we are still delivering on our mission. Your donations will help fund travel expenses, hotel accommodations, and meal costs to keep families together during challenging times. It’s devastating to have a child in the hospital. Parents tell us it’s overwhelming to leave their home and the many community supports they have built around them. It’s emotionally exhausting, physically draining, and financially debilitating. A study conducted by RBC and RMHC Canada in 2017, estimates RHMC Alberta saved families $5.8 million. At a time when many Canadians are already facing an abundance of economic uncertainties, adding additional costs is undeniably devastating.
