Learn about how you can help during COVID-19.

During this challenging and unprecedented time, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) across Canada continues to actively care for families with sick children, supporting over 25,000 families each year. In close consultation with local hospital partners and health care authorities, RMHC is committed to taking every precaution to ensure the health, safety and well-being of the families we serve, as well as our staff and volunteers.

As a recognized essential service, we remain committed to continuing to serve our families, our communities, and our hospital partners at this critical time.

Currently, 13 of Canada’s 15 Ronald McDonald Houses continue to support existing families staying with us. Unfortunately, we remain unable to accept new families at this time. RMHC Quebec City and RMHC Atlantic Canada are currently closed.

Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, located right inside hospitals, are currently suspended at this time. As RMHC continues to work closely with our local hospital partners, we are temporarily repurposing some of our RMHC Family Rooms to be used for rest and respite for families, and frontline healthcare workers.

In Alberta, the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile has been repurposed for community support in Calgary as a dedicated maternity clinic, providing physical exams and post-partum wellness checks.

We continue to work with our hospital partners and local health care authorities, in support of families with sick children, our communities, and our healthcare workers during this incredibly difficult time.

Always, but especially now, we feel deep gratitude for our community and healthcare partners who are together, helping families when they need it most.

What you can do to help

As an organization that relies on over 23,000 volunteers annually and thousands of donors, just like you, to help deliver our mission, RMHC across Canada is experiencing a time of great need as programs shift in response to COVID-19, including cancellation of fundraising events and volunteer meal programs, all while families and hospital partners continue to look to us for support.

If you are able to make a donation, please visit our donate page to support RMHC in your community.
