Every year I waste a lot of money trying to have a fun time for my birthday. Every year, everyone abandons me. Last year I spent even more money to go to an event, and I nearly ended up dead. I'm going to throw some money at a charity instead, and not risk my life pretending that people like me and that birthdays are important. This is a fantastic charity that does really important work, so you go ahead and do it too.
