Notification of Blackbaud Inc. Data Breach

Recently, one of our third party service providers, Blackbaud Inc. informed the Ronald McDonald Houses in Winnipeg, Toronto and Halifax of an isolated data breach with Blackbaud’s donor software. No other Canadian RMHC Chapters, including RMHC Canada, were impacted by the Blackbaud security breach. 

In an abundance of caution, we wanted to make sure we communicated details of this limited breach to our community. Details on the breach from Blackbaud are available at: https://www.blackbaud.com/securityincident

Based on their investigation, Blackbaud has shared that the compromised information did not contain any credit card or bank account information, usernames, passwords, or other financial information stored on their platforms. At this time, we have no reason to believe that the data was further compromised or shared elsewhere.

At RMHC across Canada, protecting the privacy of your data is our top priority. We will continue to assess this situation and take all appropriate actions to ensure your information is treated with the utmost safety and security at all times.  As part of this process, we are working with Blackbaud to implement additional safety and security measures going forward.
