The 15 Ronald McDonald Houses across Canada are close to hospitals and provide a home-away-from-home for families while their child heals. Every time you buy a Happy Meal. McDonald's donates a penny to support RMHC programs and services, including Ronald McDonald Houses, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. On the day of McHappy Day, There will be $1 taken towards this charity event from every BigMac, Medium coffee, Happy Meal, as well as McHappy day heart that is purchased. This event is run yearly and every year we pursue to collect a higher donation than the previous year. This day is solely focused on providing for the Sick Kids hospital and their families, providing them with rooms that will support and help their children. Through this event, McDonald's focus is giving and providing to the Ronald McDonald House Charity. "The More The Merrier" As the phrase indicates, the more the donations and money raised the better and more supportive and opportunities there will be. As part of a global network of local family restaurants, McDonald’s and our owner-operators are proud to give back to the communities we serve.
