The George Cohon RMHC Golf Classic hits $4,367,118 for RMHC families, raising an incredible $420,935 this year!

RMHC Canada’s founder George Cohon, opened the event introducing the very special Black family, who stayed at the Ronald McDonald House in South Central Ontario for seven months while their daughter, Gracie, grew strong enough to go home after being born prematurely. The Black family shared their story of hope and togetherness, bringing the true meaning of our mission to life. Longtime RMHC Canada Board member and RMHC champion Ken Shaw, also shared his personal touching story of how his daughter and son-in-law stayed at RMHC Toronto this past year during the birth of their triplets. RMHC Ambassador, Cassie Campbell-Pascall also shared her love and connection with RMHC inspiring tournament guests as they got ready to tee off.

Tournament guests were treated to exciting golf activations, including George’s Wheel of Fortune, Caricature drawings, closest to the pin, hole-in-one competition, Brett Cleverdon’s trick shot challenge, and a golf swing analysis, and enjoyed delicious treats generously donated by our sponsors.

A few special features this year at the tournament included CP24 Breakfast who broadcasted live all morning from the course, as well as special guests Nick Kypreos, along with TSN personalities: Carlo Colaiacovo, Darren Dreger, Tessa Bonhomme and Dave Poulin.

To close out the day, special guest, Premier Doug attended the reception along with the Minister of Education Stephen Lecce who shared their commitment to community and passion for our mission. George recieved a special honour from Premier Ford for his commitment to helping families with sick children.
