RMHC Canada – Vaccination Policy Statement

At Ronald McDonald Houses Charities (RMHC) our mission is to provide families with a place to stay together while their child is receiving treatment at a nearby hospital. For over 40 years, we have been providing safe and caring accommodations for families with a sick child during an incredibly difficult time.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, each Ronald McDonald House across the country has had specific rules in place that are designed to ensure the highest levels of health and safety within a communal living environment. We continue to act in the best interests of all families, RMHC staff, and volunteers, to ensure we protect the health and well-being of the vulnerable population of children we serve.

Each Canadian Ronald McDonald House has worked closely with their local health care authorities and hospital partners to implement the right vaccination policies for their House and community.

The unique features and designs of each Ronald McDonald House also play a critical role in determining how best to meet the highest standards of health and safety.

Given the vulnerable populations we serve, it is imperative that Ronald McDonald Houses continue to take every precaution to limit the spread of COVID-19 and its variants within our facilities, and continue to be guided by our local health care experts, and hospital partners. We will continue to update these policies as new information becomes available, in accordance with local public health advice.

As always, Ronald McDonald Houses across Canada will continue to work with each family, one family at a time, to support all families to the best of our ability, including alternate accommodations if required and where possible, as we have always done.
