Curtis McCormick Memorial Fundraiser
Je recueille 3 000 $ pour OMRM des provinces de l'Atlantique.

This fundraiser is in memory of Curtis Ray McCormick, March 9, 2000 – April 5, 2021. Its purpose is to raise funds to help families in Springhill and surrounding area who need to use the wonderful facilities at Ronald McDonald House in Halifax while their babies, children or young people are at the IWK. Curtis was a strong healthy boy who loved Lego, nerf guns, dirt biking and camping. He and his brother Connor did almost everything together as they grew up in the country just outside Springhill, NS. They were blessed with an amazing childhood and great teenage years with fun and friends. When he was 19, Curtis went away to college, September 2021. One month later, a large mass was discovered behind his right lung and shortly after he was diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma – a particularly vicious and aggressive form of cancer. He had to leave college and move back home in October. Over the next 18 months, he had 2 surgeries, several “procedures”, 5 multiday chemo treatments and radiation. We learned during how difficult it is for families who have children with health issues. There as so many expenses not covered by health care including medication, travel, accommodation, food etc. These expenses can really add up, especially as often at least one parent needs to stop working during this time to be with their child(ren). Families are often devastated financially in these situations. Ronald McDonald House is a place of love, comfort and refuge to so many maritime families going through the hardest times of their lives. We are honoured to support their efforts and help them continue with this valuable work. Please join us in raising money in Curtis’s memory by making a generous donation today. Thank you so much! Craig and Linda McCormick
