Christine, Barb & Phyllis - Walk for Families
Campaign Goal
Supporting Fundraiser Goal
I’m raising $2,500 for RMHC Newfoundland and Labrador.
I know what is it like to be a child needing to be hospitalized. It can be a frightening experience for children, it was for me Children vary in their capacities to cope with the stress of hospitalization. A significant proportion of them, however, suffer from some degree of emotional trauma due to the experience. The separation of the child from family members during admission causes most of the emotional upset. In 1981, I was in an accident that left me hospitalized for several weeks. The emotional trauma and sadness from being separated from my parents and family was overwhelming and I remember it to this day. In 1981, Newfoundland and Labrador didn't have a Ronald McDonald House for my parents. Today, you can make a difference in the lives of sick or injured by supporting Ronald McDonald House and helping give sick children what they need the most,... their families.
