The Ronald McDonald House provides a home away from home for the families of sick children. There is nothing more important for children undergoing treatment than to have their families be there with them. Being in a large city it is easy to forget that not everyone is close to the Children’s Hospital. Sometimes people have to travel hundreds of kilometers to get their child treatment, and the costs associated with this can be astronomical. The Ronald McDonald House provides a place to stay for these families. While a night at the House costs on average $190, they ask families to pay only $12/night, if the family can do so.
