Fin : 15 juillet 2017
Last fall our daughter, Brittany Hunt, was going into her last year of 4-H and mentioned she wanted to show and train a steer but not sell it for her own profit, She wanted to donate it. In the past years the Meskenaw club would sell a donation heifer at the Regional sale but decided last year it would be the last. So in the fall Brittany approached the Melfort Regional 4-H show committee about a Regional Charity Steer event. They agreed and decided each club will take a turn raising the steer and deciding who the charity of choice would be. Tisdale 4-H Beef Club has 30 eager members who wanted the charity to involve other kids so many options were given to them and they voted to support this charity. One of our members and her parents used the house when she was very small. Brittany purchased her Angus/Simmental steer that she named "Eddie" from Grona farms and has trained and shown him all year. He will we sold by ticket sales and dutch auction on July 10 at 6pm at the Melfort Regional sale at Melfort Exhibition grounds. Approximate value of steer is $2300. The winner will be picked will have the choice to send the steer on the truck to Cargill and receive proceeds or send it to abattoir for meat with cost of processing meat at owners expense. All proceeds will go to Ronald McDonald house.
