2018 FORE the Families Golf Classic

FORE the Families Golf Classic, held annually at The Wilds Golf Resort, is a fundraiser to provide a comfortable home for sick or injured children and their families when travelling to St. John’s, NL for medical reasons. When faced with an illness or injury of a child, families who do not live close to the care and resources they need at the local children’s hospital, must now deal with an added stress, distance. RMHC NL gives families like the Slaney`s from St. Lawrence, NL, what they need most – each other. When seven-year-old Ailish Slaney was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, a cancerous brain tumor, the Slaney family, parents Rodney and Cathy. and big sister Abigail were faced with a challenging road of long drives, hospital stays, chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The Slaney family have been guests at Ronald McDonald House on 14 separate occasions totalling 128 nights.
