Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Toronto needs your support now more than ever. With social distancing rules in effect, many community fundraising events that we rely on for funding are cancelled. We receive no government funding and rely primarily on donations to support families of seriously ill children. RMHC Toronto has been supporting families with seriously ill children for 39 years. The need for a safe place for families to stay together only continues to grow. Help us reach our ambitious fundraising goal of $39,000 to support families currently staying at the House – and the increasing number of families who will need us. -- RMHC Toronto remains committed to the health and safety of our families, staff and volunteers. We are working closely with our local public health authorities, Board, staff, and hospital partners to continue our essential mission delivery while mitigating risks. We have implemented several measures to keep families safe including enhanced screening protocols, advanced cleaning procedures, temporarily suspending our volunteer workforce, providing alternate work arrangements for our staff and limiting visitors. Additionally, we’ve created a new meal program to ensure our families continue to receive healthy and safely prepared meals delivered to their room. When you start a fundraiser for RMHC Toronto, the money raised will go directly towards the immediate needs to support families, including: » Individually packaged non-perishable food; » A hot meal for a family; » Extra cleaning supplies for advanced cleaning procedures; » Gifts of Nights, providing compassionate hospitality for a family to stay together.
